7:30pm and it was time to celebrate Elaine's turning a new chapter into the big 3-0 with her favourite... korean food.
Koreana in Manchester near Kendals. It was a small but intimate, a good number to talk to everyone.
We opted for a 12 ppl Koreana Special - a huge banquet which the dishes consist of
Sogalbee Banquet (Beef Flat Rib), Haemooltang Banquet (Sea Food Hot Pot), Kimchichigae Banquet (Kimchi Hot Pot), Saewootwighim Banquet (King Prawn), Dwenjang Chigae Banquet (Soyabean Hotpot), Duruchigi Banquet (Pork+Noodle+Tofu), Ojing-O Bokum Banquet (Squid), Sam-Gyupsal Banquet (Pork), Chicken (Dak Gang Jun), So Bulgogi (Beef),Duck Dak Bulgogi, & Chicken Dolsot Bibim Bab
Together With Steamed Rice, Fresh Soup Of The Day, Kimchi, Seasoned Oriental Salad Vegetables, Miniature Potato And Beef Pancakes, Shallow-fried Pieces Of Fish Fillet & Courgettes in batter.
So lots of food... that the waitress came to ask us if its ok to split the food up to a 2 courses. When all the food came out, they all look beautifully presented!
Anyway, general opinion is Korean food is on a spicy side..... i didnt realise that. But still i really enjoyed the food, esp the tofu soup very light, the kimchi, the cold pickled salad - love this salad think i almost ate the whole bowl, thin seaweed sheets. It was spicy enough for me to handle, but could not eat lots of before i go running with a stomachahe.
After all the food, so it was time for the birthday girl to cut the cake & open those pressies!
